Mariah Carey Sold Her 35 Carat Diamond Engagement Ring For 2.1 Million
Most people’s engagement rings aren’t 35 carats. Mariah Carey’s certainly was, and initially, she kept the ring. It was from her ex-partner James Packer, who is a billionaire. You might think that even a billionaire would squabble over a ring that is worth up to 10 million. He might have, but the couple agreed upon who would keep the ring when splitting up.
It is customary for the woman to keep an engagement ring if a couple splits. Mariah Carey kept it as mentioned, but later on she decided to go ahead and get rid of it, which is what most people do. She sold it for 2.1 million dollars, much less than it is worth. She decided to sell it in LA to a jeweler there.
Seeing as how Mariah Carey isn’t hard up for money, she probably didn’t care if she got the most cash for the ring. Her publicist said that she just wanted to move on basically. It makes you wonder if she kept the ring initially because she thought that the two of them might get back together.
I don’t like to hear about people breaking up, but it’s not like this was Mariah Carey’s first relationship. Far be it from me to give relationship advice, but it just seems like celebrities seem to have so many relationships. I know relationships has to be hard on them though with all that each person has going on and the fact that feel like they have to date their own social class.
Sometimes it seems as though many of those relationships are fake, but let’s hope not. I definitely do not envy them because it has to be one of the more difficult aspects of their lives. We sometimes look at celebrities and want what they’ve got, but people are most important. We have the people we love in our lives, and celebrities have major issues with relationships.
You can imagine trust is a factor. Anyway, so Mariah Carey has sold her engagement ring. She had a person she knows design it, too. The designer has known Mariah Carey for 25 years. That’s more of the details, but the ring is floating around out there now.
It makes you wonder if someone has bought it already. It’s a 35 carats diamond ring, a huge one. Have you seen a picture of it yet? Do people actually buy these rings that used to be owned by celebrities, and if so, are they sold at a rather large markup?
You would think that the answer to those questions are yes and yes. It would be interesting if you could find out the LA jeweler who has the ring and see how much it costs. Of course, you never know, it might have sold already. Would you be interested in buying a 35 carat ring?
Even if not, it sure is an interesting story, right? It makes you wonder if her diamond ring is anywhere close to a modern record for carats in terms of engagement rings. Surely some billionaire out there has set a higher bar, but wow, what a ring. I can’t help but think that it’s a waste, but that’s me.
Nice rings are great, but they don’t have to be 35 carats. That kind of ring could feed a million people for a day. Just saying, that’s excess in most people’s opinions, but what can you say? It is the culture of big money, and who are we to judge. It’s just hard to imagine. It sure would be nice to see that kind of a ring though, right?
